About us

New York Adoption Home Study Service (nyhomestudy.com) was established in 1974 and, since that time, we have developed a fund of knowledge and a level of expertise in relation to domestic and international adoption that is unmatched in the New York metropolitan area.

We can assist you in determining your route to adoption, whether it is domestic or international, agency or independent. The experienced social workers of New York Home Study Service can help you realize your adoption dreams.

We work closely with a network of adoption resources throughout the country, including adoption attorneys and domestic and international adoption agencies. We assist families with New York State Pre-Certification and with USCIS approval. We ensure that your home study meets the standards of your agency as well as those of the country from which you are adopting.

We have extensive experience conducting home studies for adoptions from the United States, China and other Asian countries, Russia and Eastern Europe, Guatemala and other Latin American Countries, Ethiopia and other African nations and the Caribbean.

New York Home Study Service & Associates - Domestic & International Adoption Home Study Service

Each kind of adoption (independent, agency, domestic or international) has its own specific requirements. We are here to help you meet those requirements so that your adoption process can move along smoothly.

As international relations and priorities in various countries change, the international adoption picture also changes. Each country develops requirements for adoptive parents and adoption processes, based on its history, national priorities, and culture. Adoptive applicants must consider whether they are eligible to adopt from a particular country and whether they are comfortable with the ages and race of the children who are available for adoption from that country. We can provide up-to-date information on countries and changing conditions as well as information about international and domestic adoption agencies and resources.

All of the social workers listed on this website are affiliated with New York State authorized adoption agencies and have the flexibility to provide independent or agency home studies.
